I played the mask last night

The first few pics are rolling in...Here are the most hideous ones... from CN's cam phone...a w800i.
It was 7 hours of looking for costume and one sleepless night...bad make-up material still put to very good use by a very helpful colleague...I think she is professional...thanks!
The shirt cost HK$19 (from Li Yuen street west - where western ladies buy cheap cheap clothes) whereas the Jacket cost around HK$860...it's from a local designer label - SPY (I have begun to like their line)...With terrible soreness in the back after the physio worked on me in the morning, I had to take the rest of the morning off...CN helped me put together the hat (it is newspapers stuck with cellotape on PL's Aussie cowboy hat)...it almost made me the mountain...I already have a broken back anyways...kakakaka....
The evening arrived and I had almost finished a round of mahjong when Siri called me away for the make-up part...which took a gruelling 30 minutes or more....in the committee headquarters...When slipped in quietly into the Dinner hall I was spotted immediately...and I had to switch to the Mask mode from there...with the cameramen and women and friends going click click click and wanting me to pose with them we had a fantastic time...Though the food was very tasty, I could not eat much thanks to the black paint on my lips...I used a straw to sip in water for most of the evening...until I found some courage to shovel the fish right inside my mouth...
I walked to each and every table and on stage doing some funny stuff...one part had me walking the whole hall lip sync'ing a romantic song with WM...It was so funny...I threw a tantrum when the song stopped....part of the act anyways...crowd seemed to enjoy it...a few of them thought I was the magician (who stayed away from me, gladly!!) and were surprised to know that its their colleague :-)).
Sad part is that I embarrassed MC so much that he didn't talk to me the whole evening. I felt very bad about it after the event...
GSS almost smudged my make up with his excited pat on my hat. He travels to NYC next week, for the first time out of Asia, must be so exciting for him :-P Reminds me...I gotta email PS and NV about his visit so that they can guide him a bit.
There was another team event in which I had not participated. They had to dance to a whole song..and I don't know who the hell picked YMCA to be that song...crazy taste...the big boss and others urged me to go join them and I jumped on to the stage and had a go at it with the crowd going wild...I tried to do as much Carrey as possible but eventually the DK took over...I ran away hiding my face before the song ended...because there was just too much attention on me and it was somebody else's event...But that had done the trick :-))
Much later they announced the best dressed prize...I went on stage and made my speech from the movie clip and posed....they give me the first prize...an ipod nano...:-(( I wanted the cash :D...I have sent my iPod mini to my brother....I have an iPod video...I wanted the cash to book for XBOX 360 :-(( hehehehe
The cab ride back home was so bad. The air inside the cab was so stuffy I almost threw up.. What is it with the HK cabbies? In the name of AC they just circulate the same air round and round again or what? Everytime I get inside a cab I aim at rolling down the windows first...CF and CN shared the cab ride home :-) I guess it is our last cab ride home together because I shall move to the new place on Monday...Yeah I have taken annual leave on that day because there is a lot happening this weekend. Mom leaves tonight...I am skipping ORBIS tomorrow to start and finish the packing...be ready for monday...when the carpet cleaners come and so do the cabletv, nowbroadbandtv/netvigator guys...:-) We are squeezing in everything on same day..then I shall have the locks changed too...Got a scare when somebody tried to get in with duplicate keys while we were signing the contract with the owner. wooooo.
I gotta move my fat @$$ out of the bed and repack mom's stuff to make sure both bags weigh equal...she came in with one bag and now its two suitcases!! EEEEEEks...how is she gonna carry all that stuff!! But she seems too determined. Last night she told me that she likes HK and wants to stay/come back...but the problem is that she has not spoken to anyone...Well, all the Indians I know live in far flung places and there is no way anybody can visit them without help or planning...that's why she has drunk all the episodes of all the tv series on all the channels and almost finished all the dvds at home...she told me that she is tired of walking the malls..that's a happy sign...
I surprised when the back spasms came back after I finished the dance last night...I was more careful on the make up washing off with the sweat...but the spasms were so strong and painful that I winced a few times and almost decided to call it a day much ahead of the competition...It was also good to meet old BK (well he is the same age actually , heehehe) who tried to heal my back with qi (though he doesn't know any qi gong)..it was when he started to lift my jacket from the back that I ran away...wouldn't want to be caught in the middle of a sure and ugly fight with his LL who was right there looking at us! Kakakakaka!
It was a painful and burning sensation after washing the face...I am so scared that I will be in India during Holi (the festival of colours)...my face is always covered with rash and I am always looking colourful for another 3 weeks because the colours are so strong that you can't wash them off!!!

wah wah

....funny things happen to serious looking guys....*SIGH*

I am playing the bad guy and saving up my holidays for a trip to europe or egypt this year...or even be new zealand...but europe rules on top right now...because i haven't performed there yet :-P hahaha

I am going to India on a 2 week (possibly longer) business trip. I will be stationed at a 5* hotel in Mumbai. that should be very funny as I have never lived in a 5* hotel in my motherland. :-P

If you dont recognise me...dont think i am an African...just wait for me to wash up :-))

btw, I am moving out of TKO this coming weekend..so ..I shall not be able to see you guys at ORBIS walk. But you should all go in support of the noble cause...for the sake of hundreds of poor and blind people in the mainland....
Btw, the pics from the link below are so nice...I have decided to throw away the stupid camera from nikon (S2) and get a professional looking one like Gary's...or Kin's...though it still doesn't make me a professional thai boxer...:-))

Dr.A, I am finally into physio-therapy...the doc told me that I have 3 years and I should start now...otherwise I cannot sit after that...may be I should start looking for a police-man's job then...just keep walking around!! :-)) heheehe
It is quite painful to sit and stand in a way which I have not done for several years...but its worth it...

When are you guys going for that umpteenth hot pot? :-)) Btw...I cannot see you guys n gals (except GSS) for sometime...like until April...and then you guys go off to China...so may be we shall meet in the month of May...CHI SIN~~

fishes and emotions

As we walked down the winding ramp through different levels of the big aquarium at Ocean Park, I had a tough time balancing dying battery-life, locating mom and finding my way in the darkness. Still I managed to find time to appreciate the lovely fishes.

On the cable car, Mom went into a musical mode. And I realised how sad and lonely she must feel with having all of us away from home all the time. She had brought me a gift from Singapore...and that day I realised what she must feel to be able to give a gift to me...we meet only once a year or may be twice...Life has taken me away miles and miles from my home...
And when I coaxed her into singing, she, as usual, could not remember any song...and broke into her own creation which was so funny...watch the camera-work.

We had a go at tumbling the tin cans. The female panda was busy eating bamboo and the male panda was busy sleeping. The go-karting was not inviting enough. However, the dolphin show was a great piece of work ;-))

Valentines @ Sorabol

We had dinner at Sorabol to celebrate the existence of our stomachs :-)
I loved the food especially the seafood Cuksoo Chongol with Chuk.
Besides that there was BBQ chicken, mushroom and shrimps, seaweed soup, rice, kimchi, salads and a weird dessert...
I dared a bottle of 'bek so jiu' and lived to tell the story. Kakaka...

What colour is it anyways?!!

With a high profile bday dinner to attend and that extra cm to trim, I found myself wandering lost on Gloucester Road yet again until I called J up to tell me where they were. So friendly and it was such a surprise when E was actually talking to me after, what?, 1.5 years of washing my hair! Kakaka! So finally I decided to let them colour my hair again...
Saturday was spent at Ocean Park...Mum and I were happy to be out and spending some time under the sun. Only that this time I made sure I was wearing a cap and had SPF all over my face and neck. MH had commented that I didn't look princely anymore...so I have got to get back to that state...and I need to protect against the natural tan :-). It was great to see the fishes and watch the dolphin show...
I had to rush back, shower and rush to CWB to attend Moo'z stag party...it was some wild screaming at the K-box. SOL played da badd boi and stopped me from doing an Eason...They headed down to Wan Chai later and I went to spend time somewhere else...SC whom I had met on Friday night for a 1.5 hour midnight chatting session ran the 10K while I did my own marathon. kakakaka. GL sent sms to confirm that he finished the half-marathon (his 2/2 so far).Great going...I shudder to think I had commented him to have possessed a pair of elephant legs!! We have to catch up especially after the failure to organise a gathering last Thursday night...and waiting for SL to come back from Guangzhou...You know what? - I am beginning to hate GZ. Everybody I like seems to end up going there for work or on business trips!! Chi Sin!!
HVD on top of my head...Do what? Go crazy again!! Kakakaka...visions of funnylanders dating dinner event come back to my mind. Never gonna be caught in that situation ever again. Never! Esp on HVD. Shhhhhhhh!!!

I had Norwegian Salmon soup and Tuna Pizza at Pizza Hut tonight...Fat fat fat...Pizza Hut is the best anyways...

And SHAWKS I missed Peggy's birthday as I had to go to the doctor's. I had a very bad bout of spasmic ache from right shoulder to lower back...just like the first time in Seoul over a year ago. That's really got me scared and I am back at doing Qi Gong whenever I can...because this time I could not raise my right hand again and it scared someone who means so much to me...Belated Happy Birthday my dear sister :-)

Abandon it or what?!

In terms of HK$ its not much. In terms of INR it is!! Mom is not happy to give it away. I wanna sell it.
I signed the new prelim contract today. In a month's time I would have shifted and settled down..or on a business trip to...make a guess....hahaha...NO!
I am going to India this time! Wow! To return to motherland on a business trip!
Anyways, the house has such a layout that the sofa would really look out of place in there. Due to the lack of a spare bedroom/store-room, I cannot put it in the bedroom...Hmmm...Talking to a few people about adopting it...lets see...
I bought it in June. Is still in excellent condition. Few memories that I want to get rid off and look ahead into the future. :-)

Forgive and Forget

Friday night was spent at home. Surprised? :-) I am a good boy once a week...don't fix a day though. wakakakaka. Though I slept around 3:30am on saturday morning, I was up by 9am. It was bf with MC at Red Village Cafe. Followed it up with a leisurely blogging, reading, browsing, dvd day...We took the moms for a visit to my new place (I have not rented it yet)...signing up the contract on Wednesday evening. They seemed to be happy with it...There are loads of stupid little stuff to do before I can move...I am beginning to panic. My current landlord kindly offered me a reduction of HK$200. Well, I am not moving there for the money...

We went for dinner with a new friend and unfortunately there was meat in my minestrone and I went overboard...I guess I almost ruined the whole thing that evening and it took us hours to sort it out...cannot forget how mean I was with that sms...even though it was unintended...never to happen again...the man in the bushes @ VP had my adrenaline pushed up so high...I almost tore him apart...crazy lunatic...scaring people like that. But in the end I had just cold cold wind cutting into my skin through the thin windbreaker I was wearing...I didn't feel like using qi to keep myself warm. I never want to use qi when I am emotional...there you have the reason...now get off my back!!

It was followed up by gulping down lamb and chicken kebab donors at Ebenezer's...my favourite place to get into mood...Spent the first night out and well past noon time on the next day!!! Something I normally don't do!!! Mom was ok with it. She is the best Mom in the world...hehehehe....

My phone kept crashing so much that I went to MK to have it checked. The stupid guy told me that it would take them 3 days to check what's wrong...by that time I could have finished my degree in Electronics! I was upset again. I guess I have become too sensitive because I want to protect myself more and more these days...and before I make the big decisions I want to be very very sure of what I am doing...doesn't sound that bad when I write it down...living through it is hell...and others can easily misunderstand. That's what we don't want...a misunderstanding...so talking is a great way out of it. Communicate!!! And I am lucky to find someone so understanding!!! Thanks!!! :-))

Met SC after a long time...well it felt really long...though we had met on Thursday night :-))...poor boy is running the Stan Chart marathon...and he is suffering from cold as usual...God bless him...and make sure he takes the first exit after the Western Tunnel...hahahahaha....

He gave me his spare phone so that I have a back up in case mine crashes and I have to turn it in for the 3 day check up...Thanks...

EK saved the day...he asked me to stick a piece of paper between the battery and the case...and it seems to have done the trick...TOUCHWOOD!!

I promise to be more communicative and less sensitive...be a good boy...hehehe....for a good cause...Can't wait to move to the new house. :-))

Top it all...there was Lion Dance in the office today...I enjoyed it..I always do..My dream is to do the dance one day...some day...

Salsa with tears and wow for that fish!

These yummy pics were taken a long time back on a night I was not very happy. I was very very exhausted. But in the end the path looked promising and I slept with some hopeful thoughts playing on my mind.

03 Feb was my Dad & Mom's 31st wedding anniversary. I bought my mom a U-Zap from OSIN and took her to Coyote Bar & Grill for Mexican dinner. We had a chicken Burrito, tortilla chips and desert quesedilla (GOD forgive me if I got those spelled the wrong way). She even attempted a Lychee Margarita...
She was pretty emotional and cried a bit...awww...I think its because I was very sick when I was a baby and nobody expected me to make it through. But I thought if I have come, then I should kick some @$$ before I go...so I stayed on...and she thought it was such a nice thing to see me all grown up and playing the good son for a change (forgiven for the wild nights I spend at discos on most weekends)...so I did play the good son and went home to watch SA RE GA MA PA Challenge 2005 with her. This is a show where there is a tough competition between participants to break into the Bollywood playback industry...with the addition of reality tv...it has become more tougher...on any given day the range of their vocals and skills would give the Canto singers a run for their money and a kick on the you know where...

Coyote has hung these Chinese lanterns on top of the bar area as part of on-going CNY festival...

And those are some of the hottest sauces in the world - the coyote collection...where JP and Myself finished a bottle of Predator in 3 visits...that's when old mike was still working there...wonder where he is now....
posted by ~ Takumi ~ at 1:05 AM | 0 comments | links to this post read on

The festival continues!

The CNY continues and people are still handing out lai see packets. :D
Even people I didn't know to be so social before stopped by my desk and gave me a packet..Others think I am married already and skipped me...or they think I am too old..:-(
Today we gave notice to my landlord about vacating the flat on March 2. We saw 7 flats today and chose one. It has a huge bedroom (the separating wall has been knocked down by the landlord - thus 2 became 1) and a big living room...it has Japanese style floor platforms which I liked...Stick in some pics next time. I just have the video right now. kakaka.

Met SC after quite sometime and he gave me a cake which needs to be cooked before eating..hmm interesting...

Narnia - The movie, the podcasts, the karaoke, the dinner and the candy shop

The streets were full of people, so were the malls and the shops in them. It was the amazing time of Chinese New Year when people just buy, eat, party, buy, eat, party...We managed to squeeze into Aji Chiban shop at City Plaza...and it was hard for me to resist picking up and eating those yummy chocs on display...The Flakes are getting more frequent and I am getting fatter!!

The talk of getting a dog is turning more into a favourite pastime with me opting for a bigger one...so that I can cuddle them more and not a tiny one so that I don't step on them...and then male or female...she-dogs are easier to manage? Don't know about that one...I think both are ok...just that I remember dearest Dodo lifting one leg up in the air and peeing on mine to show his impatience while I was chatting with my neighbour...point noted...when a dog's having his walk...you walk...

The night at CEO Neway was very emotional with three of us ending up in tears and holding each other while the saddest song on earth kept playing over and over again...some of us face challenges in daily life that make us more than just humans...we need to be brave and face these challenges...people ask us to help them out because they know that when we are faced with such situations we will come out stronger, tougher and wiser...and because we are
probably the ones that can handle these situations better than them...or are they just taking the easy way out while keep feeling guilty all our lives? Too sad to talk about that now...

Podcasts are a regular update on my iPod. The four I listen to are -

  • IndieFeed:Electronica / Dance - One song per podcast, Legal. Free. Just the way you want it.

  • IndieFeed:Hip Hop / Rap - Need I say more?

  • iTunes New Music Tuesday - The hottest new music each week

  • Next Big Hit new Music Mix - Hottest new Podsafe Music. Full tracks and songs from DJ Copperheadz and CD Baby. Check out Agent Me by Chris Thorn and Sassee.

The dinner at Pokka Cafe (Jusco, Tai Koo) was so filling. Easily costing around HK$100 per head with drinks. The black sauce chicken on omelette filled with Japanese rice was surprisingly dry and very very black and tasteless. The seafood mix looked more inviting and I helped myself to some salmon.

Narnia is a good movie. Slightly on the longer side, it is filled with spectacular graphics and scenery. It is the first? in a series that tells the story of 4 siblings being sent out of London to escape from the war...they land up at a professor's mansion with strict rules to break...they have quite an ordinary life until they stumble upon the secret of the wardrobe that links them to the magical land of Narnia. Narnia is under seige by the white witch who has proclaimed herself to be the queen. The creatures in Narnia welcome these four humans. They believe in the prophecy that says that 4 humans will help the real king overthrow the witch...to find out why and how these 4 get woven into the tale...watch it yourself. Recommended ****1/2.
