India Trip 2005

White Tiger Safari

I flew back from Korea to Hong Kong on 28 Jan.
On 29 Jan, I flew to Mumbai where I met my friends Mukesh, Manish and Saurabh. Can't believe Mukesh lost another cell phone :-p
On 30 Jan, I flew to Bhubaneswar which is the capital of Orissa state.
It is a twin city of my birth place Cuttack.
Being home after almost 1 year was a great feeling.
I spent a lot of time with my cousins Ron and Babloo playing cricket on the new pitch in the backyard and a new game called - Aa Firangi.
I bought a big aquarium on Ron's birthday after Babloo promised to take care of it too.
And we had a great time setting it up.
I also sneaked out to have a game at the nets with future India probables. Disappointed with what I saw.
But had a great time hammering away the boundaries. Wine tastes better as it grows older... ;-))
Unfortunately, I had allergy and fever for 2 days and had to spend that time in bed. :-(
On 10 Feb, my friend joined us and we spent the next few days visiting a lot of places.
Some of them were - Dhauligiri Stupa, Udaygiri Caves, Barbati Fort, Sun Temple - Konark, my school, my college, Mom's village - Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nandan Kaanan Zoo, Dad's farm - Baali.
We also went to the point where Kathjori river branches out from Mahanadi river forming the delta.
I managed to squeeze out time to meet up with my school friends Amitav and Kaushik.
I also met many relatives after a long time. It was great to see Nutan fly in from Hyderabad.
Though I did not have time to drive Dada's Zen, the chicken was fantastic. So was Khudi's keema.
Thanks to Mom and others for preparing some great food and taking good care.
I also had the chance to take a snap with my great grandmom - yeah - my Mom's Mom's Mom - Gora Mama.
And believe or not cousin Vanya spent one whole day watching - My Sassy Girl, Infernal Affairs, Il Mare, Kyun Ho Gaya Naa, Musafir and some more!! Wow!!
On 14 Feb, we flew back to Mumbai.
We went to watch Dolphins (documentary) at the IMAX Dome theater (the biggest IMAX dome theater in the world!!)
And it was great singing the national anthem at full volume before the show began!
Vande Mataram!!
After a painful night at Mumbai airport, we caught the cathay flight for Hong Kong...and I have been swamped with work...
Great trip, great time, relaxing, rejuvenating, happy and now back to the dungeons...
By the way, here are the
snaps from the trip.
